The Kathmandu Valley is renowned for its skilled metal workers who create traditional Buddhist statues with remarkable artistry. The process begins with lost-wax casting to form the statue, followed by chasing to refine details such as crowns, hair, and facial features. Smooth areas receive gentle hammer taps, and once the copper body is detailed, gilders apply a mixture of mercury and gold, then heat it to fix the gold to the statue. A burnisher finishes the piece with an agate tool, preparing it for the artist who adds colorful embellishments, often using precious pigments like crushed lapis lazuli and gold.

Beautiful Statue. Although originally after First receiving the Statue i was a bit disappointed that the Statue deviated (small Details) from the picture on the Website. Nevertheless i have come to really appreciate the Statue now! I would advise the seller, to only Display Pictures of the actual shipped Statue or inform the customer before hand about the Small deviations the are to be expected. In the end, a lot of Money is Spende on these Statues and even If the deviations are small, i feel the customer should bei informed upfront.
